About Jan van Es [design]

Jan van Es [design] was founded in 1988 in Eindhoven by Jan van Es. He graduated in 1989 from the Design Academy Eindhoven (‘Man & Food’ department, with a minor in ‘Man & Information’) with a Bachelor degree in industrial design. For his graduation projects, he already made extensive use of early 3D CAD and DTP software of that era: Intergraph I/EMS, Adobe Illustrator and Pagemaker.

His professional work experience spans the areas of graphic design, packaging design, product design, web design and technical illustration, and encompasses fields as diverse as retail, industry, institutions and education.

Jan van Es [design] is based in Eindhoven, the fifth-largest city in the Netherlands. Sometimes called the ‘Mecca of design’, it is home to the Design Academy Eindhoven and the yearly ‘Dutch Design Week’. In 2011, Eindhoven was named “world’s most intelligent community” by the Intelligent Community Forum.
